System Check
The System checkis an optional feature that looks at your own PC for the things LSPDFR needs in order to run, and folds anything it finds into your crash report as a possible cause. It's off by default — you turn it on in Settings.
It is marked Beta while we expand and refine the checks.
How to turn it on
- Open the Settings (the cog icon).
- Switch System check on.
- Open or re-open a log. The results appear as a System check section in the report.
While it's off, nothing is checked and the section never appears.
What it checks
Everything is read-only — the app only looks; it never installs, changes, or repairs anything.
On your PC (from the Windows registry):
- .NET Framework 4.6 or newer — required by RAGEPluginHook and LSPDFR.
- Visual C++ runtimes — the 2010 SP1, 2013, and 2015–2022 x64 redistributables that the game and several plugins are built against.
- Windows Media Player — some audio features rely on it being present.
In your GTA V folder (file checks):
LSPD First Response.dll— the LSPDFR plugin itself.LMS.Common.dllandLMS.PortableExecutable.dll— shared support libraries that several popular LSPDFR plugins depend on, checked in the locations they're supposed to live in.
The file checks only run when the app is confident which folder is your GTA V install (see GTA V folder). The PC/registry checks always run, because they're about this computer.
Reading the results
Each item shows one of three states:
- Pass — found and looks correct.
- Fail — missing, or in the wrong place. This is surfaced in What to fix as a possible reason the game is crashing.
- Couldn't confirm— the app wasn't able to verify it (for example, your GTA V folder isn't set yet). This is never treated as a failure — it just means "unknown".
Fixing common failures
- .NET Framework / Visual C++ runtime missing — install the matching redistributable from Microsoft, then restart and try again. These are the single most common cause of the game failing to start.
- Windows Media Player missing — enable it in Windows Features, or install the Media Feature Pack on "N" editions of Windows.
- LSPD First Response.dll missing — reinstall LSPDFR into your GTA V folder following its instructions.
- LMS support library missing or misplaced — reinstall the plugin that provides it, exactly as its readme describes (these files belong in specific folders; dropping them in the wrong place is a common mistake).
Privacy
The system check runs entirely on your computer. It only reads what it needs to confirm each item, and the results stay on your machine as part of your report unless you choose to share that report. Nothing is uploaded automatically.
If you do share a report, the system check results travel with it — so review the report first if you'd rather keep those details private.
