Report Sharing
Report sharinglets you turn a finished report into a private link you can send to someone — for example a developer helping you debug — without copying and pasting walls of text. It's off by default and marked Beta.
Sharing is built to be private: everything is encrypted on your PC before it leaves, and links self-destruct after 7 days.
Turning it on
- Open Settings (the cog icon) and switch Report sharing on.
- A short notice explains how it works and that your device will be given a random anonymous ID. Tick I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then choose Enable sharing.
- A Share button now appears on each report.
Creating a link
Click Share on a report and choose what to include:
- Report only — just the analysis.
- Report + full log — the analysis and your full
RagePluginHook.log, so a developer can dig into the raw detail.
The app encrypts your choice, uploads only the encrypted copy, copies the link to your clipboard, and shows it to you. Open the link in any browser to view the report; if you included the log, the page has a Download full log button.
How the privacy works
- End-to-end encrypted. Your report (and log, if included) is encrypted on your computer. Only the encrypted data is uploaded.
- The key never reaches the server. The decryption key lives in the part of the link after the
#. It's never sent to us, so the server can't read your report — only someone you give the whole link to can open it. - Self-destructs in 7 days. After that the link stops working and the data is deleted.
- Identifying details are removed before upload — your Windows username, computer name, and any email addresses are stripped out.
- Your log is never uploaded unless you choose "Report + full log". Plain report shares never contain it.
Because anyone with the full link can open the share, only send it to people you trust.
Your device ID
When you enable sharing, your device is given a random, anonymous IDthat's stored on your PC. It contains no personal information and isn't tied to your identity. It's used only to:
- limit how many links can be created from one device (to prevent abuse), and
- let you delete your own links.
In Settingsyou'll see it shown partly masked (e.g. a1b2c3d4••••••••).
Limits
To keep the service from being abused, there's a limit on how many links a single device can create in a short window. If you hit it, wait a little while and try again.
Turning sharing off
Switching Report sharing off permanently deletes every link you've created — they immediately stop working for anyone you sent them to. (If you're offline at the time, they'll be removed once you reconnect, or they expire within 7 days regardless.)
Privacy
Sharing only ever happens when you click Share and pick what to include. With sharing off, the app never uploads your report or your log. For how we handle reports you send us, see our Privacy Policy.
